began in 2006 when sneaker freak J.C. Cleare decided he was tired of having the clean look of his sneakers ruined by droopy laces that he was forced to wear. As a result he would tuck the laces into his sneakers or leave them tied but still hanging out of the shoe. This would take away from the look of a custom clean looking sneaker.
Eventually the different methods of avoiding the laces turned into lacing them up to the perfect fit, tying a small knot so that the lace could not pull back through, and then cutting of the excess lace. This became the way he tied all his sneakers, as time went by he realized many people also wanted to avoid the tiresome issues of having annoying laces they did not want to tie.
From the average person to hip-hop stars and even ad agencies selling sneakers, no one wants the look of laces ruining their sneakers. J.C. then decided to have a prototype made that would not only get rid of the laces but add a custom look to any type of sneaker. In 2007 the prototype was developed, and created what we now are proud to call LACELYNX.
